A festival-like performance is shaped by everyone involved, drawing on a distinct Japanese sensibility.
Renewed for the 2026 edition, this piece is created by one actor, one mime, one juggler, one bucket drummer―and by every member of the audience who came to witness it. Inspired by the Japanese legend of Ama no Iwato, this participatory, festival-style performance embodies a spirit passed down through generations in Japan: reverence and awe for Shinto and Buddhist deities; the festival as both sacred ritual and joyful celebration; and the animist belief that gods reside within myriads of things around us.
