There are many people stirring in the city. There are times when I stop and raise my face at the intersection, and imagine for a moment the lives of the many people there. But the light turns green, and the people go away. There are so many people that I will never meet again! That is all I can think about as the days go by.
However, with theatre, we can imagine further, beyond the green light.
There is no protagonist. There may not be much drama. But it will be a play full of imagination.

A performance like a masterpiece unfolding on the outer wall.
is inspired by the work of Picasso, the 'painter with a thousand eyes', and his artistry. The dancers' bodies on the vertical wall become a single line and brush to express the 'poetry of space' through their movements.
Their movements will not only immerse the audience into infinite imagination, but also provide an aesthetic experience that is difficult to feel in everyday life as the beauty of their movements resonates deep in the heart.

Based on the instruction of the unpublished works on the theme of "Brewing up(Occurrence)," KYUKAKUUSHIO will exhibit and perform a new experiential production that will be launched with new friends connected in Shizuoka.
consists of various experiential works of light, image, sound, and action that the members individually contemplate, create, and install throughout the town, and a performance runs between and connects the various work to create one spatial work. For three days, KYUKAKUUSHIO who has been searching for the answer to the question "what is a group," will decompose the "soil" named Hitoyado-cho. Why don't you join us and plant seeds of strangeness?

The greens are swaying gracefully in April at Sumpu Castle Park. This place is more like a city than an open-air park. Rather than a place for people with nowhere else to go to rest and socialize, it is a "city" in the shape of a park where people dress up and go with a purpose to "take a stroll or bask in the sun." When you are there, you may even feel a sense of "boundary." Is this the "ambience" that has been fostered and formed through the times of the "Tokugawa" period? I wondered how far I could plunge into the depths of this strangeness that is drifting, even just a millimeter... As an entertainer, I have created this work that would be suitable to present to the people in this town. Although I have called it a boundary, but it is not a division. It shows people's form of "aristocrat = commoner" or "commoner = aristocrat," which makes you want to admire and praise...., or laugh because of sadness.

mum & gypsy/FUJITA Takahiro's new work "equal" is to be premiered in February 2024. As the first performance of this production, the company presents "equal/break-fast" at Strange Seed Shizuoka. Using the historical facts obtained from researching the history of Hokkaido, Fujita's hometown, as a starting point, the work depicts "The Present" in great turmoil.

The first Edo Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu was a "gardener" shogun who cherished flowers and plants. At the Sumpu Castle Park, where Ieyasu once lived, we will hold a workshop to make a chonmage (a topknot hairstyle worn by the samurai) and kamishimo (an everyday formal wear of the samurai that consists of upper and lower garments worn over a kimono) and wear them to participate in a procession with Ieyasu. Why don't we watch some plays together? Children and adults are welcome! Let's have fun together in the place linked to Ieyasu!

The usual scenery. People walking their dogs, families on picnics, those people jogging, and various other people dotting and passing by. However, these are only flat worlds seen from the perspective of me, the individual. When each fragmented room is opened, the usual scenery is transformed into a gentle world.

Inspired by the story "The Spider's Thread," this piece was created as each performer chose a keyword that interests them and shared their ideas. This piece incorporates physical challenges while valuing the unique rhythms and pauses that only seniors can bring to the table. Watch as the members of TACT express themselves that is full of individuality.

STUMP PUMP is a performance piece that uses cardboard with an emphasis on physicality. Inspired by the typhoon-struck Mount Kuramayama in Kyoto, where many large trees fell and afflicted the residents and tourist industry, the dance company enacts the "raising" of such fallen trees in this work. The bodies that repeatedly fall and rise conveys the artists' prayers for recovery, a sense of celebration, and the hope of living life to the fullest in today's trying times. The choreography gradually shifts from a series of inorganic "actions" reminiscent of manual labor, such as stacking and raising the fallen trees, to organic "dance." This year, the Kurama Tengu once again descends the mountain and flies to Shizuoka to perform the festive rites of sairei sairyo.

Anjū no Chi has produced a performance art piece that is neither a dance nor a theatrical play. Using Kusōzu, a Buddhist painting depicting the Nine Stages of Decay, as a reference, it portrays how a living body lives, dies, lies still, is eaten by animals and broken down by various organisms, and turns into manure and then into soil. By performing outdoors under sunlight instead of inside, the artist enacts a performance that connects the many bodies that decomposed on this land and the audience who stands on it. We hope this work will trigger thoughts on your body's future.

They play in the water, compete in a shooting game, and wrestle together.
Watching them play somehow makes us want to cheer for them.
DE PAY'S MAN presents animaginative and playful dance performance inspired by Choju Giga (Scroll of Frolicking Animals), a 44-meter-long emaki illustrated handscroll.

KAIJU-mawashishi is a performance piece in which the artists show a monster's tricks, just like saru-mawashi (monkey performances).The performers on stage are the Kaiju (monster) and the Kaiju Mawashishi (Kaiju trainer). The Kaiju stands idly in a grass field with nothing to do, while the Kaiju Mawashishi prepares for their performance by going back and forth between the audio booth in the white and red tent and the Kaiju. Although the Kaiju cannot do any tricks by themselves, they can perform "staged" tricks with the help of the Kaiju Mawashishi, who prepares a stage, adds sound effects, and adjusts the timing of their movements to make them look as if they are performing. This work becomes a "performance" when it is viewed with the "eyes that see and believe in the magic of artistry."
