A story of Gofukucho turning into a theater?!
Let’s join the Chindon-style Daimyo procession!

Hear the chindon drums resound through Gofukucho Shopping Street!!! Their drumming rhythms carry this city’s memories, lifting someone’s unforgettable scenery and fading words into the sky. This chindon (street advertising band)-style feudal lord’s procession comes to life through a long-awaited collaboration between SANPIN and Jinta-la-Mvta, blending song, rap, and theater into a vibrant street spectacle. And the finale? A grand concert, of course!!! You―yes, you watching the band―are not just a spectator. You are a member of the chindon procession… No, the lord himself, Otono-sama!!! Come, celebrate and parade with us!!!!

Profile

SANPIN

SANPIN was founded in 2015 by four artists: ITABASHI SHUNYA, KITAO WATARU, NAGASHIMA KEIZOU, and FUKUHARA KAN. Guided by the concept, “A fragment of your life is the central story of someone else’s,” this team of contemporary traveling entertainers weaves a single narrative by connecting modest yet extraordinary moments of life gathered across Japan. Staying in each location, the artists conduct fieldwork and interviews to collect small episodes of people’s lives and transform them into lively performances that lift these stories up to the sky.
Maintaining a fully self-directed approach―from scriptwriting, direction, choreography, and sound and lighting operation to reception and venue management―the team has recently expanded its practice to include collaborative works with local residents through creative workshops. BRAND NEW STREET, presented along the Gofukucho Shopping Street in 2025, remains fresh in memory.

ジンタらムータ

Jinta-la-Mvta

Jinta-la-Mvta is a transdisciplinary chindon (street advertising) band. It is led by WATARU OKUMA (clarinet and others) and MIYZOU KOGURE (chindon drum and vocals), who create unique fusion music infused with a festive atmosphere and experimental spirit. OKUMA, who trained as a clarinetist while working as a chindon street musician after his avant-garde rock activities, creates hybrid music based on chindon―a fusion of Japanese and Western music styles―by blending international musical traditions such as those of the Balkans and klezmer (an Eastern European Jewish instrumental folk music tradition). The band has often performed overseas by invitation.
