“Toward a Clean, Well-Lighted Place”

This is about Kageyama’s personal interest in how much one can become sybaritic and self-indulgent. In other words, I intend to rediscover a city’s potential desire for musical and spectacular. It is a comedy, and the degree zero of an entertainment. Wherever that is, the place is always clean and well-lighted.

Kishodai Kageyama

Born in 1988 Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. Graduated from the First Department of Literature, Waseda University. Active in Tokyo and Hamamatsu. In 2008 he started a theater project “sons wo:” for which he was a writer, director and a sound designer. The project was renamed to “Gettingontheflyingsaucerists” in 2018, setting its guideline as creating “a moment when multiple writers and performers can stand on the same ground, and space where they can stay the way they are.” He participated a Festival/Tokyo13 open call program in 2013, and was the Saison Foundation Junior Fellow in 2015. His recent works include “To Keep Sanity” (2018), “Jupiter II Europa, the Penal Colony” (2018), “CITY III” (2017, awarded Aichi Arts Foundation Drama Award grand prize).
