“WE”

It was in the daytime, or at dusk. There were many, or few audience.
I tried suggesting many things and talked about many things.
Meanwhile there were two people beside me, who are like me but bearing no resemblance. They came and we talked.
Three of us talked about many different things then dispersed. About me became about us. So, relatively happy, we were --

It is a story of “WE” the three of us, told with sounds and voices that are in-between songs and narratives.

egonaku

Based in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka. brue-egonaku is known for its unique method of integrating sense of beat into the rendering of stage and lyrical words into the play. It is the writer and director Shinichi Anasako’s high sensitivity toward music coming from his former career as a rapper. The troupe has been performing not only at the theaters but mundane spaces such as shopping avenue, malls and inside the monorail cars. Also it is extending its region of activities to outside of Kitakyushu through multiple programs including Takamatsu Artist In Residence 2016, Kyoto atelier GEKKEN support company program. In 2018 the troupe was selected to be part of ROHM Theatre Kyoto x Kyoto Art Center U35 Support Program “KIPPU,” and performed their new work at Rohm Theatre. With inspirations obtained through encounters with new people and cultures exceeding the boundaries of region and genre, the troupe aims to deliver works that bring invisible yet raw and sensuous feelings to the audience.
