ICHIGEKIYA

A Theater company based in the area along the Keihan Railway, formed in 2008 by the participants of National High School Theater Competition. With a few directors in the troupe each developing one’s own style, the company became known for having a unique variety of stages including pantomime, sword fight, mime, and a touring show. At the beginning of their career, the troupe was wild enough to practice outdoor at the riverbanks. However, they were surprised by the comfort of indoor practice when they became affiliated with Kadoma Lumiere Hall in 2014. This is their fourth year in a row to perform at STRANGE SEED. It’s perfect attendance. Every time they come to Shizuoka, they wander around the town in-between shows searching for local gourmet. The company have gained decent recognition receiving awards such as the CoRich Performing Arts Award! first prize in 2016 and 2017. Their recent goal is to hold their own show in Shizuoka.
