“'S' is for Strange”

IIMURO NAOKI will produce a new mime show solely for Strange Seed Shizuoka. IIMURO and the actors selected from the public, they will spend a week together for creation. The show will be changing locations within Sumpujo Park, including Green Stage. The deadline for the open call application is April 14th.

A mime, director, and choreographer.
Since he started, IIMURO continues to perform in a stylish, sophisticated and yet humorous manner.
He graduated from Hyogo Prefectural Takarazuka-kita high school, Drama Course, then moved to France in 1991 to study at the Ecole Internationale de Mimodrame de Paris Marcel Marceau. After graduating from the Ecole, he entered the most advanced course of contemporary dance provided at the Conservatoire d'Issy-les-Moulineaux. He completed the course a year after to receive the first prize with all judges’ consent.
He worked for a while in France and Japan performing in mime, pantomime and dance shows as well as providing workshops.
In 1998, he moved his base of operation back to Japan to start IIMURO NAOKI MIME COMPANY.
He has been involved with a wide range of activities such as staging shows both as solo and as a company; performing at other companies including “GEAR” a long-running show in Kyoto; directing mime shows; hosting mime workshops and teaching; and participating overseas festivals.
