“Blast! Fudanotsuji!!!”

– Fudanotsuji – A sacred site where Edo Shogunate posted new proclamations. It was an entrance to the hustle and bustle of Sumpu castle town off the Old Tokaido. In celebration of the dawn of a new era, Mikiko Kawamura and Ippei Yonezawa dare perform in response to the various requests hung on the notice board at this place. Excuse us for blasting out, and don’t miss it!

Mikiko Kawamura x Ippei Yonezawa

Mikiko Kawamura
Born in 1990. Described as an “enfant terrible of the dance world who fell from some planet” (Dance New Air 2014/Tatsuro Ishii), Kawamura does not stay just in the domestic and overseas theaters. Her activities range widely: performance in the open air and at live events, movie and music production, and lacemaking.

Ippei Yonezawa
A tap dancer. He studied under Kazunori Kumagai, and belongs to Kaz Tap Company. While studying the original “TAPDANCE” culture rooted in the history of black slaves in the United States, Yonezawa is searching for the various possible conversations generated between music, song, dance, communication, emotional expression and “the act of TAPPING.”
