We will present two 30-minute programs at different locations. Each program consists of 1 scene (+1 song) accentuated by “myo-sical (strange musical),” a unique style combining music and drama, established by a writer and musician Yukinosuke Itoi.
“Bathtub Boat” (performed on May 3rd and 4th) is about a woman ponders in a bathtub. This play won the 1st prize at the competition of theater in video, Quarter Star Contest. (videography by Kyoshi Sugita)
“Fruits Serenade” (performed on May 5th and 6th) depicts a small life of a man and a woman living in a corner of the city. We are excited to show “Fruits Serenade” that can only be realized at Fudanotsuji. Please don’t miss it.
A theatrical company founded by an actress Junko Fukai in 2004, and dedicated to performing “myo-sical,” a writer, director, and musician Yukinosuke Itoi’s unique musical productions. The troupe is known for their poetic space that is sexy and chaotic; original songs whose rhyming lyrics and lingering melodies are highly acclaimed; and performance charged with overwhelming amount of energy. Their 14th stage “A Tunnel of Ear” (performed in 2012) won the grand prize for CoRich Performing Arts Festival! 2012 Spring, and their 22nd stage “Flash of Light years”(performed in 2017) were shortlisted for the 62nd Kishida Kunio Drama Award. In 2009, the troupe started to hold music concerts. The scope of their activities have been extended beyond theater, and now they appear at events. Their new play “Pillow Talking Blues” starts in June, 2019, at Honda Theater.
