Born in Kyoto, Japan. Hisashi Watanabe started learning juggling by himself at the age of 20. Going deep into the practice, he realized that physicality is essential to juggling and began dance. With the idea that juggling is the fundamental relationship between “body” and “objects,” not just a part of circus and street performance, he develops his own unique style as never seen in any other performance in the world. His body is like an animal, dancing with diverse techniques, such as contortion, handstanding, and changing body textures. In 2015, he started his juggling company ATAMA TO KUCHI, and received much attention from dance, juggling, and circus fields across genres. Currently he works on Japan-France collaboration, which will be premiered in Autumn 2019. Mainly based in Asia and Europe.
