A story of trees, humans, wind and love.
Formed in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki in 1990. While expanding its sphere of activities nationwide, the company functions as a franchise of Mimata Town Cultural Arts Center. They plan and produce local events such as workshops, elementary school tours, participatory play and theater festival “Machi-Dra!” The company is now highly recognized both for its quality of work and social engagement including a project started in 2007 featuring people with disabilities as actors (Miyazaki◎Maarui-Gekijo).
A writer and a director Tomoyuki Nagayama won the Aichi Arts Foundation Drama Award in 2001, for “so bad year.” His works are often performed by other groups, and some were directed by Motoi Miura (CHITEN), Yudai Kamisato (Okazaki Art Theatre), Makoto Nakashima (BIRD Theatre Company).
In recent years, the company has been focusing on the theme of universal human activities. They develop a performing style suited for each work, based on the sound bodies make when engaging in those universal activities.
